Hi, Monday. Push, push, push.

Holler dollar bill. Okay, just to be clear, this trailer had me at Muse's "Starlight". Stick a fork in me. I would sleep with anyone in this trailer...especially Julianne Moore, especially when she talks about Twilight. If Steve Carell can pull off playing a normal human being, a la he didn't do so well for himself in Date Night, then I think this movie is going to be a definite winner. I'd guage to say that this is a movie that I wouldn't even try to play off like I hated it and then watch excessively and repeatedly at home (he'sjustnotthatintoyou...minusallthepartswithscarlettjohanssonbecauseifindseriousdistasteineverythingshedidafterghostworld). I might just admittedly like this.

I'm in the break room at work takin' a cute 5, and the only comment I have to make about today is, "If it LOOKS like a tranny..." Oh, YOU BET.

The visual manager at work, Starylynn(right? that WOULD be the visual manager at Anthropologie's name), and I have been having vivid talks about Katherine Heigl in My Father, The Hero. Well, it's not so much vivid talks as it is candid quips saluting how fantastic she looked when she was younger. Some remarks have included:

-"What happened to her?"

-"I never wanted to be someone so much in my whole childhood life than I wanted to be Katherine Heigl in that movie."

-"I mean, Katherine Heigl, you can't expect anything good to happen after you cut your hair into a bob and dye it brown...I'd know."

-"How old was Ben? SO OLD. Remember Ben? Ugh, I loved Ben."

I'll let you figure out who said what, but My Father, The Hero

Summa, summa, summatime. In a month's time, I'll get to lay by a lake (fingers crossed). Today I'll "settle" for a backyard barbecue while watching the Tony awards on an outdoor projector.

(This isn't Storytellers. Just a single great recording of Like Rock & Roll and Radio.)

I recommend everyone watch Ray Lamontagne's Storytellers on VH1. I've been watching Storytellers consistently this season, minus Kings of Leon 'cause I just don't care, but Lamontagne's has been the ultimate so far in comparison with Cee Lo, My Morning Jacket, and Death Cab. All these front men have striking qualities in sharing their experience creating music, but Lamontagne has such a quiet genuineness about him. I think most people can attest to being partial to the humble, and this man is humble embodied. You can view the entire episode on VH1's website...if you need a good cry. He talks about how his mother raised him along with his 5 brothers and sisters:

"We were broke...but she made being poor fun somehow...We didn't even know we were poor, really, really? We kinda did. When I went to a friend's house, I knew we were poor. When I ate food at someone's house, I knew we were poor."

He goes on to talk about their pink Ford station wagon named Beula and so on...watch it.

UH OH, someone let Vanny Carlton out to create a new record...I do love that maroon dress. I think we're done here.
Today's a good day. Car wash (check), deposit check (CHECK), gym (Check), catch up blog (in effect), show, dwinks, and dance/laugh/play. Still in all, I'd really like to be a little lawn nypmh at Bonnaroo this weekend! You can catch live performances here. I think before I get ready for the show tonight I'm gonna rub mud all over myself and air percolate to Wiz Khalifa.

This is quite literally what Robyn does at her concerts. She is magic. I could use a Robyn concert in the near future. Each time I see her live it's like getting a cheap face lift. How can you watch this and not realize that she is perfection?

Whoa whoa, they describe one of the sauces as a "creamy surprise". GET IT, Micky D's.

"We used to call these roach clips (holds one up to his mouth like he's smoking a blunt). Yea, you used to clip these on the side and hit it. That way you can get the end without burning your fingers."
-My Father, the Hero
"Teen Wolf premiered on MTV this week, and boy was it on TV!!!"

-Joel McHale on The Soup

You read it right, kids...this chap's surname is FUKUDOME. Like, FUK-U-DOME. I recently came across this sassy ball player while on a run at the gym. Obviously, the only TV options at the gym are the news and sports per request of old men in short shorts and square neck tools, so I suppose I choose the less perplexing channel of the two. So, anyway...Fukudome.

Beirut - East Harlem by Revolver USA

The "new" Beirut single, "East Harlem" was released today. In my opinion the new ending is way bomber than the other ending. Here's to hoping the full album is on its way...with bomb endings AND beginnings. Yee yee yeeeeeee.

It's like that, y'all. I still listen to this entire album all the time. It's a tried and true favorite. I found it weird that this particular song was playing at work the other day. I don't recall ever hearing it on the playlist, and trust, I've heard the damn playlist. I'm not one who thinks there's a destined plan for anyone in life. You're in charge of your own destiny through the choices you make. I do, however, pay attention to signs/happy coincidences that help get you to where you need to be. Sunday is the start of a brand new week. Let it unfold.
