I guess this doesn't have to be tourist specific, but I'd like to think the woman I had this exchange with wasn't even from planet earth:
Woman: (holding up an item in the home department, with bewilderment she speaks) WHAT IS THIS?!
Me: That's a dress for a little girl (said while thinking, "I wish I woulda told her it was a giant potholder")
